The best Shopify quiz app depends on your budget, your monthly quiz traffic and how much you need beyond the quiz itself. We compared the four apps most merchants shortlist (Octane AI, RevenueHunt, Quiz Kit and ShopperQuiz) using their live Shopify App Store listings and pricing pages as of October 2026.

A quick disclosure before we start: we make ShopperQuiz, and we aim to be the overall best Shopify Quiz app. That's exactly why we've kept this comparison to facts you can check. Every price, rating and limit below links to its source, and we tell you where the other apps beat ours.

Quick picks

  • Best for large DTC brands with a budget: Octane AI. The most mature AI feature set, with A/B testing and account managers on higher plans. From $50/month.
  • Most proven, with the most reviews: RevenueHunt. A 4.9 rating from 462 reviews, a free plan and the Built for Shopify badge.
  • Best for A/B testing and custom results pages: Quiz Kit. Built for Shopify, strong testing tools, from $59/month.
  • Best value for growing stores: ShopperQuiz. A free plan with 150 responses, paid plans from $29/month, and a scoring engine instead of decision trees. It's new, so it has no reviews yet.

Ratings, prices and limits from each app's Shopify App Store listing and pricing page, checked October 14, 2026. Prices change often, so confirm before you buy.

How we compared them

We judged each app on the six things that decide whether a quiz pays for itself:

  1. 1Price at your real traffic. Entry prices hide the real cost. What matters is what you pay at 500, 1,000 or 2,500 quiz takers a month.
  2. 2Recommendation logic. How the app decides which products to show, and how well that holds up as your catalog grows.
  3. 3Selling from the results page. Add to cart, variants, reviews and subscriptions on the results screen.
  4. 4Integrations. Klaviyo and other email tools, ad pixels, analytics and subscription apps.
  5. 5Analytics. Whether you can see completions, drop-off and the revenue each quiz brings in.
  6. 6Trust signals. Shopify App Store rating, review count, the Built for Shopify badge and how long the app has been around.

We used each app's public listing, pricing page and documentation. We didn't rank on features we couldn't verify there.

1. Octane AI: best for large DTC brands with a budget

Rating: 4.7 from 208 reviews · Price: from $50/month · Trial: 14 days · On Shopify since: March 2018

Octane AI is the longest-running name in Shopify quizzes, and it shows. Beyond the quiz itself, you get AI features that few rivals match: Smart Products (describe what to recommend in plain words), Smart Copy (personalized text on results) and an Image Analyzer that lets shoppers upload a photo for things like shade matching. Brands such as ILIA, Bambu Earth and Jocko Fuel appear on its pricing page.

How pricing works. Octane bills in credits. One credit is one completed quiz, and AI features add a little on top: about 0.3 credits for Smart Products, 0.1 for Smart Copy and 0.4 for Image Analyzer. Extra credits cost $0.10 each.

PlanMonthly priceCredits includedKey limits

Plus$200 (or $350 for 4,500 credits)2,200Unlimited quizzes, A/B testing, custom CSS, no logo
EnterpriseFrom $5007,250+Dedicated account manager, strategy calls

Annual billing saves 15%.

Strengths

  • The deepest AI feature set, including photo analysis
  • Strong SMS and retention integrations: Klaviyo, Attentive, Postscript, Recharge, Gorgias and Tapcart
  • Developer tools: webhooks, a storefront JavaScript API and an MCP server
  • Hands-on strategy help on Enterprise

Drawbacks

  • The cheapest plan allows only two quizzes and shows Octane's logo
  • A/B testing starts at $200/month
  • No free plan, and credit overages make monthly bills less predictable

Choose Octane AI if you're an established brand with steady quiz traffic, you want AI-heavy experiences like shade matching, and $200+ a month is an easy decision.

2. RevenueHunt: the most proven all-rounder

Rating: 4.9 from 462 reviews · Price: free plan, paid from $39/month · Trial: 15 days · On Shopify since: October 2019

RevenueHunt has the most reviews of any app here, with 96% of them five stars, and it carries Shopify's Built for Shopify badge. Its AI Quiz Copilot builds quiz logic for you, and the listing supports 12 languages plus Shopify Markets for multi-currency stores. It also runs on WooCommerce and BigCommerce.

PlanMonthly priceQuiz responsesNotable additions
Free$0100Unlimited quizzes, logic, analytics, CSV export
Basic$39500Klaviyo, Omnisend, GA4, Meta Pixel, Zapier, custom code, live chat
Pro$991,000Video call support, dedicated account manager
Premium$1992,500Strategy reviews, done-for-you build (paid service)

Annual billing saves 20%.

Strengths

  • The strongest social proof in the category, and support that reviewers praise again and again
  • A genuinely useful free plan for testing a quiz on real traffic
  • Multi-language and multi-market support out of the box
  • Easy migration from Octane AI, Typeform, Quiz Kit and others

Drawbacks

  • No email or ad integrations on the free plan
  • A steep jump from $39 to $99 once you pass 500 responses a month
  • 2,500 responses tops out at $199/month

Choose RevenueHunt if you want the safest, most-reviewed option, sell in several languages or markets, and your traffic fits under 500 responses a month or your budget is comfortable above it.

3. Quiz Kit: best for A/B testing and custom results pages

Rating: 4.9 from 177 reviews · Price: from $59/month · Trial: 10 days · On Shopify since: September 2020

Quiz Kit, built by Presidio, holds the Built for Shopify badge and has been featured in a Shopify App Store story. Its standout is control over the results page, which you can design from your own template, plus built-in A/B testing on every paid tier. Its website shows brands like Bobbie, Versed, OUAI and Credo.

One point worth getting right, because some roundups get it wrong: Quiz Kit is not flat-rate. The single Scale plan is priced by quiz engagements per month.

Monthly engagementsMonthly price
Up to 500$59
501 to 850$99
851 to 1,500$169
1,501 to 2,500$269
2,501 to 4,000$369

Tiers continue up to $4,499 for very high volume. The free plan is for Shopify development stores only.

Strengths

  • A/B testing and full CSS/JS control on every paid tier
  • A customizable results template, email results and revenue tracking
  • Broad integrations: Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Omnisend, ActiveCampaign, Attentive, Recharge, Yotpo and Google Tag Manager
  • AI-generated results and an AI Shopping Assistant for guided selling

Drawbacks

  • No free plan for live stores
  • Cost climbs quickly: 1,000 engagements a month costs $169
  • The AI writes your results and recommendations, not the quiz itself; Presidio clarified this in a reply to a review in August 2026

Choose Quiz Kit if you plan to test quiz variations seriously, want a highly custom results page, and have the budget for engagement-based pricing.

4. ShopperQuiz: best value for growing stores

Rating: no reviews yet · Price: free plan, paid from $29/month · On Shopify since: May 2026

Disclosure: ShopperQuiz is our product. We've held it to the same standard as the others, including its drawbacks.

ShopperQuiz works differently from decision-tree quiz builders. Every answer casts votes for products, collections or tags. Filter and budget questions then remove anything that doesn't fit, and the top-scored products become the recommendation. Because the result reflects the whole quiz, one product can surface for many different shopper profiles, and you don't need to map every path by hand.

The AI Quiz Builder reads your real synced catalog and drafts a full quiz (questions, answers, vote weights, filter and budget questions) that you then edit in the visual builder. It's included on every plan.

Pro$994,000Revenue Intelligence, unlimited AI, chat and video support

A custom plan starts at $119/month for 5,000 responses. Billing is monthly, with no annual contract. See the pricing page.

Strengths

  • The lowest price at every volume we checked (see the cost table below)
  • Selling on the results page: native add to cart, variants, review stars from Judge.me, Yotpo, Loox, Okendo or Stamped on every plan, and subscribe and save with Recharge, Skio, Loop and others
  • Ad pixels for Meta and TikTok sent from the server, so ad blockers don't hide quiz conversions
  • A full WooCommerce plugin with the same features

Drawbacks

  • New: launched in May 2026, with no Shopify reviews yet and no Built for Shopify badge
  • No A/B testing
  • One store per account
  • A response counts when a shopper starts the quiz, not when they finish

ARTINIQ, an Ayurvedic haircare brand, uses ShopperQuiz on Shopify. They told us the widget feels like part of their store rather than a bolt-on tool.

Choose ShopperQuiz if you want a capable quiz without paying Octane prices, your catalog is big enough that branching logic gets messy, or you run on WooCommerce as well as Shopify.

What each Shopify quiz app really costs

At 1,000 quiz takers a month, prices range from $59 to $169, so traffic matters far more than the entry price.

Monthly quiz takersShopperQuizRevenueHuntOctane AIQuiz Kit
500$29$39about $60$59
1,000$59$99about $110$169
2,500$99$199about $230$269

Cheapest monthly plan that covers each volume, before annual discounts. Octane figures use its smallest fitting plan plus overage credits at $0.10 each, without AI features, which add about 0.1 to 0.4 credits per quiz.

Two caveats keep this fair:

  • Apps count usage differently. Octane counts a credit when someone completes a quiz. ShopperQuiz counts a response when someone starts one. If many shoppers drop off early, you'll use ShopperQuiz responses faster than Octane credits for the same number of completions.
  • Limits run out differently too. When ShopperQuiz hits its monthly limit, the quiz pauses until next month unless you upgrade. Octane keeps running and bills the overage.

How to choose the best Shopify quiz app for your store

Start with your monthly traffic and budget, then match the app to the job.

  • You're testing whether a quiz works at all: start on a free plan. RevenueHunt gives you 100 responses a month and ShopperQuiz gives you 150.
  • You want to run A/B tests: Quiz Kit includes them from $59/month; Octane AI from $200/month.
  • You need AI photo analysis or shade matching: Octane AI is the only one of the four with an image analyzer.
  • You sell in several languages or markets: RevenueHunt has the strongest multi-language and Shopify Markets support.
  • You have a large catalog, or you want the lowest cost at 1,000+ quiz takers: ShopperQuiz's scoring engine scales without a decision tree, and it costs the least at every volume we checked.
  • You also run a WooCommerce store: RevenueHunt and ShopperQuiz both cover it.

Whichever app you pick, the quiz design matters more than the tool. Keep it to a handful of questions, ask about the shopper's needs rather than your product specs, and make the results page easy to buy from. Our guide on how to build a converting product recommendation quiz walks through it step by step.
